What is an "armor set" in Lineage 2
In Lineage 2 each body slot (helmet, upper, lower, gloves, boots, sometimes shield/sigil, cloak) can be worn separately – but equipping the full set
triggers extra stats (“set bonuses”). Bonuses scale by grade and chronicle and usually kick in once the main pieces (chest + legs) are on;
the rest unlock additional perks.
In Lineage II, an "armor set" is a pre-designed bundle of gear pieces that grants extra passive bonuses when several or all of the pieces are worn together.
Each set belongs to a specific item grade (No-Grade, D, C, B, A, S, S80, S84) and to one of the three armor families—Heavy, Light or Robe. A typical set is
made up of 3 – 5 core parts (helmet, chest, gaiters/legs, gloves, boots) and may optionally require a shield, sigil or cloak. Once you meet the minimum-piece
requirement (usually 2, 3 or "full" pieces), the server automatically activates the set bonus; take a piece off and the bonus disappears.
Armor-type breakdown
Armor sets in Lineage 2 come in three main types, each with its own strengths and weaknesses:
- Heavy: High physical defense, stun resistance, usually STR-based passives.
- Light: Balanced physical defense and evasion, boosts critical rate and speed.
- Robe: Low physical defense, high magical defense, cast speed, and MP regeneration.
Sigil replaces shield for robe users in Hellbound+; gives M.Def and weight bonus.
Masterwork, PvP & Apella variants
Some armor sets have special variants:
- Masterwork: Low chance to craft a Masterwork piece, which upgrades the base stats (usually +1 STR/DEX/INT or +CON). Full-Masterwork sets stack these bonuses.
- PvP Enchants: Available from Kamael onwards, apply PvP-Enchants to get a “{PvP}” prefix, adding +5% PvP damage and –5% PvP damage taken.
- Apella/Noblesse: Introduced in C4, this reputation-only set has balanced stats and remains popular on Classic servers.
Enchanting & attributes
Enchanting armor sets boosts their stats, with thresholds for extra bonuses:
- +4 full-body enchant: unlocks an extra bonus line in item tooltip (e.g. +HP, +Atk Spd).
- +6/+7 robe sets open a second bonus line on some chronicles.
- Attribute stones (Hellbound+) can be inserted per piece, up to +60 (old chronicles) or +120 (GoD+) for elemental defence/offence.
